Aliases are a great way to keep the taxonomy for your categories in Pulse the same as in your video content management system, or to create your own content naming convention. Aliases are plain text names. Set up an alias for content you want to track on a specific category. The video player then passes this information to Pulse for it to be logged and visible in your category reports.
- Click on the desired category in order to expand the tab.
- Click on the menu for identifier information and click Edit aliases:
Enter your list of comma‐separated aliases. Use up to 64 characters per alias.
You can also use wildcards, for example, sport* means that all
tags beginning with "sport" are included. If you have two categories, for
example Category1 with alias sports* and Category2 with alias
sport*, and the ad request from the player contains
s=sports-football, then Pulse selects a campaign targeted
to Category1 because Category1 has the longest match.
Note: You cannot have duplicate aliases in your account structure. This means that if you enter an alias that is already in use for the current category, any other category/sub-category, or a content partner in your account, you are prompted to enter a different alias. Aliases are case insensitive, which means, for example, sport and Sport are treated as duplicates.
- Click SAVE.
